A couple of weeks ago we shared information about recent workout music studies, but what if your New Year’s resolution is instead to get more rest? We’ve got you covered as well! If you find it difficult to drift off to sleep at night, check out our new playlist, a supplement to last January’s Classical Music for Sleep. As with the original playlist, selections tend to match the tempo of an adult’s resting heart rate (60-65 BPM with some variation). I also chose pieces with little fluctuation in tempi, timbres, and dynamics to create a serene mood; however, I included more music in duple meter in this year’s playlist. Although most lullabies are written and performed in triple meter, I still found these pieces helpful for setting a relaxing tone before bedtime. Ultimately, you also need to make a decision about what works for you when picking music for sleep. To get started, check out More Classical Music for Sleep, and remember to share feedback in the comments.
Sweet dreams and happy listening!
